Assessment of Competency
The BTP shall have their competency assessed through a competency examination conducted by the recognized MOH BEMS Competency Committee (MBCC), authorized by Engineering Services Division, MOH. The examination will be based on the competence and commitment guidance such as the training syllabus developed as per this handbook, Malaysian Standards and relevant national regulation. The training syllabus are divided into two parts which are:
A) Compulsory Competency Module (CCM) and;
B) Medical Device Module
Route to Competency:
There are two ways for BTP to obtain competency certificate:
For normal route, a BTP is required to attend training courses and subsequently sit for examination conducted by MBEC, before submitting the competency application to MBCC. Whereas for grandfathering route, a BTP has to pass the assessment conducted by MBCC before being awarded a competency certificate by MBCB.
